That is exactly what you feel when you step through the doors of Mill Top Banquet And Conference Center in Noblesville, Indiana. Located just 25 minutes north of Indianapolis, it is the perfect blend of big city amenities and small town charm.
When looking for the perfect place to host an unforgettable celebration, you want an experience that feels completely magical from the very first tour to the final dance. Mill Top delivers exactly that, giving every single guest a taste of local legend and luxury.
The Secret Ingredient Is The Staff
When you are planning the biggest event of your life, the breathtaking walls around you certainly matter, but the people helping you matter even more. If you browse through the endless five star reviews for this incredible venue, you might expect couples to rave exclusively about the gorgeous architecture. And they absolutely do! But if you ask the team what makes them most proud, they will point right to their staff.
The people behind the scenes are the true magic makers. Since stepping into the event industry in 2010, the team has learned that taking care of people is the absolute best way to guarantee a flawless celebration. They bring warmth, expertise, and a steady hand to every event, ensuring you can actually relax and enjoy your own party.
A Legacy Carved in Brick and Motor
To truly appreciate the vibe of this venue, you have to look at its wild and wonderful past. The original Model Mill building has stood proudly in the community for over 150 years. Founded back in 1865, its very first job was producing Kismet Flour. The building was so integral to the town that the local Noblesville High School Millers actually got their mascot name to honor this exact spot! Today, the famous original smokestack still beautifully defines the local skyline.
But the story gets even cooler. In 1899, the Marmon family bought the building to manufacture cars. Fast forward to 1911, and the Marmon Wasp won the very first motorized Indianapolis 500 race! When you visit today, you can actually see the history for yourself. Head over to Miller Station and look for the bright yellow door. It is painted to perfectly match the winning racecar, complete with original finish line photos celebrating the monumental victory that forever connected this building to the Indianapolis community.
The Visionary Who Saved It All
Of course, every historic building needs a hero. In 2001, local visionary Rocky Shanehsaz was driving past the neglected property just as a For Sale sign was being pushed into the dirt. Seeing the incredible potential, he immediately circled the block to inquire. His persistence paid off, and he bought the property the very next week!
After an intense three year renovation project that included refinishing the original floors, replacing windows, and adding modern fixtures, the building was brought back to life. However, when the 2008 economic downturn caused many of his commercial tenants to leave, Rocky had a brilliant realization. Walking the empty halls one evening, he envisioned lofty industrial ballrooms and chic bridal suites. He decided to become his own best tenant, adopting a version of the original name to keep the rich history alive. Almost 25 years later, Rocky’s dream has been fully realized. Now an official Historical Landmark recognized by the State of Indiana, it is a premier destination for couples ready to tie the knot.
The Sky Is Truly The Limit
Even with so much history, the venue is always evolving and looking toward the future. The team is incredibly excited about their brand new third floor rooftop space! This gorgeous new addition can comfortably accommodate up to 400 guests under the open sky. It is just another fantastic reason why this venue is the ultimate backdrop for a massive celebration.

We just had our wedding here on November 15th and used the loft/overlook for our ceremony and reception. We as well had our rehearsal dinner at the MillTop as well. I cannot say enough amazing things about the MillTop and how smooth all the transitions were. Hillary was our wedding coordinator and made the wedding planning process so easy and calming. The day of my wedding we had some difficulty with an outside vendor and Hillary was right there to help ease myself and intervene. Hillary brought so much laughter, calmness, and structure to the planning process which was exactly what we needed! The whole team was so organized, kind, and receptive. We had an absolutely fabulous day.
